"What makes this course extraordinary is the diversity of great golf holes on a small piece of ground - you never get bored - in that way, it's like Merion or St. Andrews."

When you walk the fairways and greens of Llanerch, you're walking in the same place history has been made. From one of Byron Nelson's 11 consecutive wins to the 1958 PGA Championship to the home of some of the finest amateurs in the annals of the game, you'll experience championship golf at its most precise.

Over the years, we've hosted several national and local championships, including:

  •  PGA Championship -- 1958
  •  Philadelphia Inquirer Invitational -- 1945
  •  Philadelphia Amateur -- 1931,1934,1998
  •  PGA Championship (Philadelphia Section) -- 1940-43, 1965, 2008

We're not for resting on our historical laurels. We've invested millions of dollars over the past few years reconditioning our gem of a golf course with new irrigation, grasses and bunkers. So our golf course is more than an historical landmark in the game -- it's also a top notch track that ranks among the finest in Philadelphia.

"When one talks about the great golf in the Philadelphia region, Merion East comes to mind, as does Huntingdon Valley and Aronimink. Well, it's time to add Llanerch Country Club to the list."
